Meeting “How sustainably and efficiently supply woody biomass for heat production” was held on 16th of September in Bor.

This meeting gathered members of Bioenergy working group form Eastern Serbia, which are representatives from local self-governments, district heating companies,  professional agricultural and environmental protection services, utility companies, as well as regional inspectors, forest owners, producers of biomass and heating boilers. Working group members had opportunity to hear more about efficient bioenergy supply and utilisation  for heat production and to exchange their ideas.

The first meeting of this kind, which gathered more than 40 participants, was held in Knjaževac, on 24th of June. The topic was benefits of bioenergy usage for heat production. Then, GIZ DKTI Programme „Development of Sustainable Bioenergy Market in Serbia“ and realised activities in Zlatibor region, together with Regional Development Agency Zlatibor, were presented.

The next meeting of Bioenergy working group from Eastern Serbia will be held on Friday, 2nd of October, in Zaječar. The idea is to discuss about efficient wood combustion in households and bioenergy impact on air quality and climate changes.

These meetings were organised by Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia RARIS in cooperation with GIZ DKTI Programme.
