Study tour to biomass district heating plants in Hungary, Austria and Slovenia has been organized between 17th and 20th of March.

The objective of the tour was to share experience with European colleagues, gaining insight into development possibilities in the area of biomass fuel utilization and getting acquainted with practices of using woodchips as fuel for district heating.

Visit included state-of-the-art larger capacity plants in Komló, Hungary and Güssing and Übersdorf, Austria as well as district heating solutions applicable to smaller municipalities in Preddvor and Železniki, Slovenia. Participants had also reception at municipalities of Komlo and Preddvor where they were welcomed by their respective Mayors. 

Representatives of different companies have also shown their interest in cooperation with Serbian municipalities in realizing biomass district heating projects.

Participants came from municipalities that are at different stages in developing biomass heating projects including: Novi Pazar, Mali Zvornik, Priboj, Čajetina, Ivanjica and Arilje.
