Kick-off conference on the 9th of September in Stuttgart, Germany

On the 9th of September 2014, the kick-off event of the German-Serbian Bioenergy-Partnership was held in Stuttgart. A high-ranking Serbian delegation led by the Serbian Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Prof. Dr. Snežana Bogosavljević-Bošković, was welcomed by Mr. Franz Untersteller, Minister of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector of the German Federal State Baden-Württemberg.

The objective of this event was the establishment of the Bioenergy-Partnership between the two states and to bring together stakeholders from the business sector, political decision makers and representative from scientific institutions from Germany and Serbia to identify opportunities for the cooperation.

The Bioenergy Partnership is based on three pillars:

  1. Political dialogue to create favorable framework conditions for the introduction and extension of bioenergy technology in the Balkans.
  2. Cooperation between German and Serbian companies (business-to-business) in concrete joint projects, market development and technology transfer;
  3. The development of scientific cooperation mainly between universities in the field of bioenergy.
